Malnutrition is a major public health problem in the developing and underdeveloped world. It is estimated that majority of world’s malnourished children are in South Asian and Sub Saharan regions of the world. Anemia is a prominent feature in such children. This course briefly covers the extent of the problem in children: iron deficiency anemia, megaloblastic anemia, sickle cell anemia, anemia due to thalassemia syndromes, etc.
